parapraxis is a young architecture design studio focused on the exploration of architecture and design practice as extended and interwoven fields of ideological, aesthetic, social, technological and material configurations. The ambition of the studio as the name, a compound word consisting of para and praxis indicates, points to a disciplinary position that is at once outside, adjacent and beyond practice per se that aims to constantly motivate the evolution of the discipline toward new formations of knowledge and conceptions. We believe design is a fundamental form of human creativity that is capable of engendering positive change in society and the environment, while endeavoring to produce works of enduring quality that espouse the spirit of innovation and critical reflection.
